Bethany Christian High School will be performing the musical Oklahoma! February 21-24. Set in Oklahoma territory in 1906, this musical depicts the quest for identity of the soon-to-be state, as the farmers and cowboys each seek to stake their claim. At the heart of the story is the rocky romance between Laurey, a farm girl, and Curly, a cowboy. The stage version of this landmark musical includes plenty of singing, dancing, and humor, as well as often-overlooked depth.
Performances are on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 7:30 and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and may be reserved by calling the school at 534-2567. Those participating from Berkey are Jacob Rudy-Froese, Rachel Schrock, Andrew Snyder, and Kyle Snyder.
