The Mission Commission is excited to announce that we will be partnering with the National Immigrant Justice Center Goshen over the next two years. A portion of budget surplus money designated for Missions will provide funding to NIJC for their programming, which has recently focused on women and families who have experienced gender-based violence and are seeking asylum. NIJC staff will be engaging with Berkey each quarter in various formats, which may include a Sunday school class, sharing during worship, and engaging with groups of Berkey members who are interested in volunteering directly with NIJC’s clients.
     We look forward to this meaningful connection and invite all Berkey members to participate in learning more about the needs of immigrants in our community, both through the work of NIJC and many other organizations to which we are connected.
