Pastor Joanne Gallardo writes, “This Sunday I will be challenging us to memorize a passage of scripture each month as a way to have scripture, as the Bible says, ‘written on our hearts.’ There will be no quiz, no checking up on anybody, rather, I encourage you to take time over the month to commit the passage to memory. Some ways to do this might be to say it before dinner, at the beginning and end of a work day, or even as you’re brushing your teeth. I will explain more in my sermon.” This month’s scripture is 1 John 3, verse 1:
See what great love the Father has lavished on us,
that we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are!
The reason the world does not know us
is that it did not know him.
