Ron has begun this week to serve as the “substitute pastor” filling in half-time while Marilyn Rudy-Froese is on sabbatical. Ron retired in early 2015 after serving as a pastor, most recently at Silverwood Mennonite Church in Goshen. Before that he served at Zion Mennonite Church in Archbold, Ohio, and at Whitestone Mennonite Church in Hesston, Kansas. After graduating from seminary at AMBS, Ron worked on his PhD in Old Testament at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Before beginning to pastor, Ron taught at Eastern Mennonite Seminary and Hesston College. Ron is married to Ruth Lapp Guengerich; they have 2 children (living in Socorro, New Mexico and Evanston, Illionois) and 8 grandchildren ranging in ages from 30 to 6.
