As part of our support of Model Elementary School, we, along with Faith Lutheran Church, have been providing monthly treats for the teachers and staff. We are looking for someone to provide treats in March and in May. The treats can be delivered anytime during the month; they can be individual treats, or big bowls of trail mix or other such treat. There are about 70 teachers and staff employed at Model School. You can work alone, or a few people can provide treats together. Please speak with Lowell Nafziger or Marilyn Rudy-Froese if you would like to do this.
Also, this past Wednesday, February 18, 2015 Lowell Nafgizer, Marilyn Rudy-Froese, and Dan Schrock went to Model School and presented a check from the congregation for $967.00. Berkey raised this money from raising and selling potatoes, strawberries, and popcorn grown in the Berkey gardens. Lynne Peters, Model’s principal, said, “Thank you for the amazing support you give to our students and staff.” The money will go into a fund that pays field trip fees for students from families who cannot afford the extra cost. Thanks to everyone who made this project a success.
