Please join us at Prairie Street Mennonite Church (1316 Prairie St., Elkhart) for an event entitled “Celebrate, Learn, and Pray for Immigration Reform.” This event willbe held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013 and has been planned by leaders of Elkhart County churches of several denominations*.
People’s lives are affected by decisions about immigration reform made by politicians and law enforcement. With story, song and prayer, this one-hour event organized by local churches of several denominations will put faces on the immigration issue. We will thank God for those who are working toward immigration reform, and pray for a just outcome. Come enjoy good music, a brief program, and a chance to know others who care about welcoming newcomers into the Elkhart community.
*Pastors or leaders of congregations helping to plan this event are: Rev. Rob Van Ess (First Congregational United Church of Christ, Elkhart), Rev. David Araujo (Iglesia Menonita del Buen Pastor, Goshen), Rev. David Lawrence and Rudy Gourdine (First Presbyterian Church, Elkhart).
